The line between admiration and intrusion is a thin one. And for live performers and artists, that line can significantly blur when fans decide to cross over to the other side. Pop sensation Bebe Rexha recently experienced one such shocking incident firsthand when a fan launched an unexpected attack during her latest concert. However, in the face of adversity, a true champion emerged from the shadows to lend her support and solidarity. It was none other than the charismatic and larger-than-life NFL superstar Rob Gronkowski.
The NE Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end legend stepped up, extending his love and unwavering support to Rexha. So what went down at the concert on Sunday in Lower Manhattan?

New York was buzzing with Bebe Rexha’s hit numbers on Sunday, June 18. However, the mood of the night received a major damper when Rexha, whose real name is Bleta Rexha, reached the end of her electric set list. During the last song of the night at The Rooftop at Pier 17, the singer asked her fans to put away their phones and revel in the moment without any distractions. However, the announcement backfired as one particular member of the crowd tossed an iPhone at her on the stage, hitting her left eye, and leaving it black and blue.
The pop musician was taken to the hospital after she collapsed on stage. However, Rexha later reassured her fans that she was doing alright. “I’m good,” the singer wrote in her Instagram post.
“Glad you are okay, Bebe! Bounce back from that BS even stronger!!” 4x Lombardi champion, Rob Gronkowski, commented on the post. The 6’6″ tight end, who was well on his way to becoming an entertainment industry icon in the past, would have surely taken some drastic steps if he attended the concert.

“I saw what happened to you. I’m completely disgusted. So sorry this happened to you,” another IG user, who was present at the scene, commented.
And Gronk’s reaction wasn’t a surprise, given his close bond with Rexha.
Rob Gronkowski and Rexha go way back
Back in 2019, after winning his third Super Bowl ring, Rob Gronkowski attended the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. There, he shifted roles from tight end to security guard as he participated in a comedic bit, escorting country music group Florida Georgia Line to their seats in the award ceremony. The country music group was in the headlines that year after they featured in the hit Bebe Rexha number ‘Meant to Be’.
Surely, Gronk helping them to their seats made sense, given how much of a Rexha fan he is. Gronkowski even asked pop star Kelly Clarkson to vacate the seats for the Florida Georgia Line group. And in reply, Clarkson sang the hit Rexha number.
