Odell Beckham Jr. has not been on a field since getting injured in the Super Bowl this year. However, for the past few months, the 30-year-old has been in the headlines, while people await his comeback. With his return date expected to arrive sooner than later, multiple teams were interested in acquiring his services. But now it seems like the wide receiver won’t find it as easy to find a suitor as he would have thought. After the Dallas Cowboys, reports have the Buffalo Bills dropping out of the race to sign him as well.

On Monday, the Cowboys announced the signing of former Colts wide receiver, T. Y. Hilton. While the Dallas based outfit was one of the leaders in the OBJ race, many fans could not believe the news. Furthermore, even the Buffalo Bills have signed a WR, seemingly taking a pass on Beckham Jr. Veteran Cole Beasley will be returning from his short retirement to join the Bills’ practice squad. The 33-year-old started the season in Tampa Bay but after struggling to find himself on the field, retired only after two games.
Prior to this, Beasley has spent 3 seasons in Buffalo, from 2019 to 2021. While he had a decent run in the first two seasons, his last year at the team did not go as well. In 2021, the player only caught for 1 TD and 693 yards. But the player should be more optimistic now that the team is stronger and QB Josh Allen is only getting better and better. The receiver has also expressed his love for the Bills’ Mafia. “I loved the fan base here.” Beasley said.

The 30-year-old wide receiver has been without a team since tearing his ACL in the Rams‘ Super Bowl victory this year. Talks of a contract extension with the LA side fell apart. However, he has been generating a lot of interest but now with T.Y Hilton going to the Cowboys and the Bills signing Beasley, two out of the three teams he worked out for have chosen to add other players. Apparently, the player is not as close to a comeback as the teams were expecting him to be.
Brandon Beane, the GM of the Bills, has not necessarily ruled out signing the WR just yet. Beane said. “I think right now his timeline has moved back a little bit and making sure that he’s truly ready to roll, and so right now, we’re just kind of focused on the guys we got but wouldn’t rule out if it made sense further down the road.”
