For Joe Burrow, that person is Dak Notestine, his trainer from way back in Burrow’s high school days at Athens High School. 

Dak has been the key to Burrow’s continued improvement in his strength and athletic conditioning. In fact, as the preseason media availability rolled around, Burrow made it a point to credit his offseason training regimen to Dak’s crucial involvement in understanding and treating Burrow’s body, to train at his athletic peak. “I’m really, really lucky to have Dak.. really lucky to have him.”

Notestine was brought into Ohio State University as the Director of Strength & Conditioning by Coach Jimmy Burrow. Dak would eventually end up coaching Jimmy’s son who was in high school at the time.

And that’s how the journey between Joe and Dak started. Ever since then, from Athens High School to LSU and now the Bengals, Dak has been Burrow’s backbone in helping the QB prepare his body for the grueling life of a football star.
