Patrick Mahomes stands at the top once more

Following the conclusion of this year’s draft season, a chart revealing the top athletes’ cap hits to their respective teams has been released, and it has brought surprising results. Despite having $230 million in guaranteed money, Deshaun Watson was nowhere to be seen on the list. As he has lowered his salary cap to almost 19 million for this current season. Nonetheless, Mahomes claimed the top spot with a $39.6 million cap hit for the Chiefs, amounting to more than double of the Browns‘ QB.

Other highly-paid athletes like Lamar Jackson, Hurts, and Aaron Rodgers were also not featured on the list. The second position was occupied by another quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, while Giants DB Leonard Williams secured the third spot. The only remaining quarterback on the list was Jared Goff, shouldering a $30.9 million salary cap burden.
