Nick Chubb will miss out on all the Sunday night action when the Cleveland Browns take on the Arizona Cardinals, as the running back has picked up a calf injury ahead of their clash.

The Browns will miss their No. 1 running back at the time when they need him the most. As the Cardinals are the only unbeaten team in the season so far and the Browns will do anything to break their winning streak.

Cleveland Browns sideline Nick Chubb with a calf injury

Chubb suffered a calf injury during his 161 yard game against the Chargers in week 5. Adding icing to the cake, Kareem Hunt may also miss the game, as he is listed questionable with a wrist and knee injury.

However, backup running backs like D’Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton can see some action while facing the Kyler Murray led Arizona Cardinals.

“You never want to see a guy like Nick go down,” Kareem Hunt said. “Definitely, what he means to this team is crazy. We’ve got a lot of good backs. We should be able to hold it down until he gets back.”

Chubb, however, has a tremendous impact on the gameplay of the Browns as he ranks second in the NFL with 523 rushing yards this season. He is averaging 5.8 yards per carry with four touchdowns.

Stefanski after losing Chubb for the weekend

Although with bad news of Chubb missing out on the Sunday night game, the Browns have good news to spare too. As the wide receiver, Jarvis Landry has returned from the injury reserve and head coach Kevin Stefanski doesn’t want to rule out the possibility of activating him in their tough fixture on Week 6.

“I think anytime you’re without a player of Nick’s caliber, guys have to step up,” Stefanski said. “It’s never one person that replaces Nick Chubb. Obviously, we feel real strong about Kareem and what he’s capable of but guys have to step up.”
