Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has always kept a safe distance from controversies from the start. He has always been kind to the press and has always kept his focus on the game. The 2019 NFL MVP once raised questions as he re-tweeted Trump’s tweet, with many thinking the tweet had political connotations.

Well, Jackson wasn’t trying to spice up things on social media. He just shared the tweet because Trump had lauded the Ravens and their choice of drafting Lamar Jackson. But the tweet by Trump almost came after two years in 2020, and the Ravens drafted Jackson in 2018.

Commenting on the whole situation, Jackson said, “I saw him making a statement about me being a great pick, my teammate congratulating me and stuff like that. I was just like, ‘Appreciate that. Truss.”

Trump had retweeted a video clip of Jackson’s former teammate at Louisville, who was seen celebrating when the Baltimore Ravens had drafted Jackson into their roster. While sharing the video, he wrote, “Really nice to see this and, what a great pick!”

Replying to Trump, Jackson just tweeted two words, “Truzz Trump”.

Jackson further said, “I wasn’t making no political statements or anything like that. I was just, like I said, just agreeing with what he was saying about me and my teammate. That’s all.”

The Twitter world had some furious reactions after Jackson replied to Trump with ‘Truzz Trump.’

Lamar Jackson wasn’t making any political statement about Donald Trump. Instead, he was appreciating Trump for lauding him.

The two words ‘Truss’ and ‘Big Truss’ are popular terms often used in the Ravens’ locker room after they had a dominating season in 2019. Although in the tweet, Jackson wrote, ‘Truzz’ instead of ‘Truss’. It was because someone had threatened a lawsuit on the term. Recently, Jackson applied to trademark the term ‘Truzz’ after he got it tattooed on his chest.

Jackson has a 37-12 record as the team’s starter after being selected by the Ravens in 2018. He has 9,967 throwing yards, 3,673 running yards, and 105 touchdowns overall in that time.

Jackson will get $23 million as his basic salary in 2022. If he keeps up his excellent play, he’ll get a huge pay hike the next offseason.
