Commenting on the whole situation, Jackson said, “I saw him making a statement about me being a great pick, my teammate congratulating me and stuff like that. I was just like, ‘Appreciate that. Truss.”
Trump had retweeted a video clip of Jackson’s former teammate at Louisville, who was seen celebrating when the Baltimore Ravens had drafted Jackson into their roster. While sharing the video, he wrote, “Really nice to see this and, what a great pick!”

Lamar Jackson wasn’t making any political statement about Donald Trump. Instead, he was appreciating Trump for lauding him.

The two words ‘Truss’ and ‘Big Truss’ are popular terms often used in the Ravens’ locker room after they had a dominating season in 2019. Although in the tweet, Jackson wrote, ‘Truzz’ instead of ‘Truss’. It was because someone had threatened a lawsuit on the term. Recently, Jackson applied to trademark the term ‘Truzz’ after he got it tattooed on his chest.
Jackson has a 37-12 record as the team’s starter after being selected by the Ravens in 2018. He has 9,967 throwing yards, 3,673 running yards, and 105 touchdowns overall in that time.
