Aaron Rodgers is one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL. So, expectations from him are a bit higher than most of the others in his position. And when the back-to-back league MVP cannot deliver on those expectations, some criticism is bound to come his way. Rapper Lil Wayne, who is a massive Green Bay Packers fan, ripped into Rodgers as the franchise missed the playoff bus this season.

The Packers QB signed a massive contract extension with the organization in the 2022 off-season on the back of his MVP season. But he hasn’t been able to replicate that form in the 2022 regular season.

Rapper Lil Wayne ripped into Aaron Rodgers for his lackluster season with the Packers. He said that Rodgers is done with football and the Packers need to move on from the QB.

“Man as a Packers fan, all I can say is R E L A P S E!!! I been done w 12. 12 been done w football. Now when tf are they gon be done w 12???????!!!!! Idk but GO PACK GO,” the rapper tweeted.

Wayne might get his way as Rodgers has dropped repeated hints about either retiring from football or, at the very least, moving away from the Packers. He is on a massive $150 million contract that he signed in the 2022 offseason. But Rodgers has struggled to find form ever since wide receiver Davante Adams. Davante Adams left for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Packers wanted to sign a WR before the trade deadline, but any move failed to materialize.

Rodgers still has two years left on the three-year deal, but he can move away in a trade deal. And that will surely fetch the Packers some handy draft picks to build for the future. But was Rodgers that bad?

A season to forget

Aaron Rodgers hasn’t posted the most terrible stats in the NFL this season. But he surely wasn’t at his best. He threw 3,695 passing yards, which put him 11th in the league in that regard. The Packers QB threw 26 passing touchdowns,  which was seventh best in the entire regular season. But he also threw 12 picks. Not bad, but not at the level the fans have come to expect from him.

The Packers started the season strongly but lost their way towards the middle. They picked it up again, only to fall at the final hurdle. So, will Rodgers continue at Lambeau Field next season? Or have the fans seen the last of him as a Packer?
