Remember how Tua Tagovailoa looked when he was first drafted in 2020 by the Miami Dolphins? Well, you might not be able to recognize him at the present moment. Tagovailoa has come a long way since his introduction to the NFL three years ago. But the 25-year-old QB had suffered multiple concussions last season, which led to concerns arising around his performance and health. In a bid to avoid hitting his head again and suffering from more severe injuries, Tagovailoa has been taking jiu-jitsu classes to learn the art of falling and save his head from suffering more injuries. 

But the Dolphins are keeping their faith in him and his recovery for the new season ahead. With his recent appearance during the Dolphins’ training, fans were left baffled by the sudden changes in the way he looked. So what changed for Tagovailoa?

The 25-year-old QB joined the Dolphins to take part in the team drills for the first time since December. With the team picking up his fifth-year option from his contract, it is without a doubt that they still believe in his abilities in the QB position. And his latest training appearance shows that Tua Tagovailoa has been working hard at the gym to gain more muscles.

In a recent video shared by CBS Sports on Instagram, we see the QB looking buffed up, as his stature and body frame are visibly bigger while passing the ball around. Apart from this, he is also seen sporting a new helmet, to further prevent any more possible injuries and risk the possibility of his recovery before the new season begins.

His new bulky transformation is surely a testament to the work he’s putting into getting stronger on the field. And it left fans in disbelief after witnessing the physical changes in the QB.

Fans took to the comment section to express their disbelief over the changes they noticed in the Dolphins’ QB.

One fan hinted at the possibility of a drug test, stating, “Random drug test incoming”

Another fan pointed out his head injuries, commenting, “Maybe put on some weight so LBs don’t tear his head off?”

Another fan pointed out his ethnicity being a factor, stating, “His Samoan genes finally catching up with him”

This fan still could not believe the QB’s gains, stating, “Nah he’s just wearing full body armor to prevent any further injuries.”
