The Las Vegas Raiders have altered their coaching situation after inducting new personnel into their company. Athletes have enthusiastically accepted the new workforce. One of them is club quarterback Derek Carr, as the entire staff works together during the summer.

The Raiders hired former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as head coach and Dave Ziegler as general manager in the previous month, and the organization has begun to build formal alliances and communicate as they prepare for the 2022 season.

A Formidable Business Alliance

On Friday, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr finally spoke up about the new staff and how the alliance has worked out. He told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that McDaniels and GM Ziegler have been “super awesome and great,” and “looking forward” to learn more about McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler.

The athlete also included that “I’m just looking forward to getting to know them. We’re doing the whole business relationship thing, but hopefully, we can get our families together and start getting to know each other and start building that unity that we had last year.

Josh McDaniels replaces former coach Jon Gruden, who was fired in the middle of the team’s 2021 run. The Las Vegas front office welcomed Dave Ziegler as the team’s new general manager just a day before announcing the HC. For nine seasons, Ziegler served as an executive in New England alongside McDaniels.

Will Derek Carr Stay?

Carr’s five-year, $125 million contract, which he signed in 2017, has only one year left on it; and he is in line for a contract extension. Along with head coach McDaniels and general manager Ziegler. The coaching staff has a vested interest in protecting the quarterback for the long haul, which looked unclear under Gruden’s mentorship.

Moreover, he had a career-high 4,804 yards and 23 touchdowns in 17 games in his eighth NFL season, leading his franchise to a 10-7 record before losing in the Wild Card round this year.

Carr’s former college teammate Davante Adams is another athlete whose contract will expire in the coming days. Although the team can do some contract restructures and deductions to hold Adams on the roster. The quarterback indicated a desire to play alongside his collegiate teammates. Carr stated, “Obviously, that’s on my mind when I’m thinking about all the stuff. However; there are some football players with whom I’d like to play, so I keep that in mind as well.”
