Patrick Mahomes didn’t care for Andy Reid’s approval

After an awkward fall, following a tackle from behind, the Chiefs’ star quarterback could not even walk the field anymore. Concerned HC, Reid called for a timeout to ensure if everything was okay. Upon examining QB’s ankle, the HC decided to refrain the 2X MVP from going into the field. However, Mahomes isn’t particularly known for letting things go that easily.

The recently unearthed clip shows how the 2X MVP argued with Reid in that game, following his ankle injury. The head coach can be seen approaching Mahomes and telling him to sit out the game. However, without a moment’s pause, the NFL star immediately started screaming and bargaining with Reid for his re-entry. It initially starts with, “No! F*k no, I’m good, hell no, f*ck no, I have one more drive at least, no way, no,” followed by, “I’ll do it at halftime, I’m good, there’s no f*cking way.”

Eventually, Mahomes can be seen walking off the sideline, angrily hurling his jersey on the ground. Nonetheless, if it was any other athlete than the 2X MVP, the story could have been different.

As the clip continues, it can be seen that his beloved wife, Brittany, worrying to death in the private booth about his return. She can be heard urging them not to let him play as Mahomes could barely even stand. However, Mahomes can then be seen limping and running at the sideline, screaming how he wants to get back in the game.

The story has stayed the same from last year, as it’s a known fact how the Chiefs dominated their opponent that day, then headed for the championship against the Bengals. Mahomes’ unwavering competitiveness has never been in doubt, and this clip further solidifies that fact.

There are still discussions around the community about the 2X MVP’s injury and what actually could have been if he sat out those games. Then again, it’s Mahomes, who won the league MVP, completing 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards, and three touchdowns in the finals.
