At the Symphony Hall in Downtown Phoenix, the world saw the star NFL players lining the red carpet of the 12th Annual NFL Honors. Among them was Vikings’ Kirk Cousins, who made his way with fans lining every corner to greet him. The Super Bowl 2022 season was just days away. And another person that graced the Chiefdom on the carpet was Mama Mahomes and Patrick’s sister Mia. Fans didn’t know until the Viking QB and Randi met that the Chief’s Grim Reaper and Cousins might have a budding friendship.
Kirk said as he greeted Randi, “Great to meet you. We played Pat, um, in the preseason 2021. And he(Mahomes) came over in warm-ups. And it was the first I’d really interacted with him; he was so friendly. My heart is with the Chiefs on Sunday. It was great to meet you. We’ll be thinking of you on Sunday.” It won’t be wrong to say, now that we look back, that, indeed, Captain Kirk’s desire to see the Chiefs win came true. The Chiefs won their first cup and made history.

Cousins is undeniably one of the NFL’s most charismatic players. His iconic catchphrase “You like that?” has been viral! And, of course, who could forget his shirtless, chain-wearing dance party on a plane last year – an all-time classic moment. While Mahomes may have a bigger name and a more impressive record, Cousins’ infectious attitude and dynamic personality could very well give him the edge. What the future holds for “Cousins in action” we are yet to know, but his performance? That’s something to talk about.
The Vikes Captain QB’s 2022 Season
A sense of mystery surrounds Minnesota Vikings ahead of the season. However, this should not be viewed as a negative thing. Although they had a strong record for most of the 2022 season, they stumbled during the playoffs with the New York Giants. It’s worth noting that Kirk Cousins ranked second in Vikings history with 35 TD passes in a season. Yet he had a tough fourth quarter. Despite this setback, Captain Kirk has shown to be a dependable regular-season quarterback for the Vikings.

With an impressive 13 wins under his belt and over 4,500 yards passed, this quarterback led his team to the second seed in the NFC playoffs. His incredible feat of 29 touchdowns earned him a tie for fourth in the league. And, with a whopping eight fourth-quarter comebacks, he secured his spot as the NFL leader. With the 2023 season looming, Minnesota faces tough decisions about its future in this position. Despite his fully guaranteed contract, Cousins remains a formidable force that cannot be underestimated.
