Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert took the league by storm last year. In just his second season in the league, he transformed himself into one of the best quarterbacks. He led the league in passing yards last year and nearly made it to the playoffs with his team.

The Chargers drafted Justin Herbert with the 6th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. In the second game of the season, he became his team’s starting quarterback. With his rapid development, he has made a good reputation around the league.

Chargers center Corey Linsley previously played for the Green Bay Packers. He claimed that he already sees glimpses of Aaron Rodgers in Herbert.

The comparison with a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers certainly will mean a lot to Herbert. Corey Linsley has had the opportunity to play with both of them, and he certainly knows that something special is brewing in his current franchise.

Talking about Herbert as compared to Rodgers, Linsley said, “He just has that… ‘I want to be the best that I can be, I want my team to be the best and I’m not going to let anything stop me. … Aaron [Rodgers] has that same… fire, perfectionist-type attitude… that competitive fire inside of him. And, that’s what Justin has.”

Corey further said, “He [Herbert] watches more film than I’ve ever seen, he’s in the weight room doing weighted pull-ups… I mean it’s 24/7 and that type of mindset speaks to the type of player he’s going to be.” Justin Herbert’s center certainly believes in him, and it is now up to him to fulfill the expectations around him.

The LA Chargers are part of one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. They are a part of the AFC West, which includes the likes of the Chiefs, Raiders, and the Broncos. All four teams in the division have playoff aspirations. Moreover, these four teams can arguably make a case for being a part of the top 5 teams in the AFC apart from the Bills.

Making it to the playoffs will be a tough task for Justin Herbert and his young team. However, they have made some great offseason moves which have put them in an excellent position to come out of the AFC West. The task is challenging, but Herbert proved last season that he is arguably a top 5 quarterback in the league and can lead his team to success over the years.
