His followers have already begun drawing comparisons with his peers like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Russell Wilson, and Kyler Murray.

The LSU product will play in the fourth NFL season of his career in 2023. Last year saw a significant increase in the value of paychecks, especially for the quarterbacks seeking an extension from their respective teams. Hence Burrow now being eligible for holding talks is expected to go big.

As per the reports shared by outlets like The Sporting News, the quarterback is seeking as much as $45 million, listing himself among the top-paid athletes in the league.

With such theories taking rounds of the internet, Burrow fans made some bold speculations. “QB market is gonna be broken,” said one of the fans. While others flooded platforms like Twitter with similar claims.

Well, the approach sounds familiar because when it comes to athletes like Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, this decision changed the entire landscape of their teams. Bengals owner views on the retention of Joe Burrow

The Cincy fans have accepted Burrow with wide arms. There is no chance that the management would let him go, especially after selecting him as the first overall pick three years ago. While speaking about the future of this asset, the Bengals owner, Mike Brown, made his intentions clear.

“He’s going to have a long career,” Brown said, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby. “We certainly want it to be here. I think his window will extend over his whole career.”

“But there is the fact that when you don’t have to pay the quarterback some extraordinary amount, that leaves room to pay other players more and, therefore, you can keep more players that are good players,” he added. It will be interesting to see whether Burrow agrees to a reasonable figure or goes big, breaking the records.
