The Super Bowl’s halftime show is always one of the biggest attractions for the fans. Even in the past few years, the appearances in the halftime shows have been extravagant as performers. Artists like the Weeknd, Michael Jackson, and even Justin Timberlake have come on to feature their music. Arguably, the most memorable ones was ‘Nipplegate’, which involved Timberlake and Janet Jackson present at the Super Bowl Tom Brady played.

In lieu of Rihanna performing at the most recent Super Bowl, Brady remembered the Nipplegate incident that took place. He spoke about the infamous incident and how it impacted the Super Bowl in his time. There was a mix of hilarity as well as embarrassment for the stars he spoke about.

Nipplegate is the infamous name given to the unfortunate wardrobe malfunction of Janet Jackson during the 2004 Super Bowl. Brady went on to speak about the incident that took place when Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake were performing. They seemed like they had gotten a little carried away as he had ripped off Jackson’s top. Timberlake had unknowingly exposed her on live television during the performance. Moreover, then-young QB, Tom Brady had been a timid witness to the whole ordeal. There had been apologies from the artists as well as CBS, the broadcasting network, as per the Insider.

Furthermore, Brady even commented on the incident as he was present there. The star quarterback was a young 26-year-old young player at the time.

He said, “I think in the end, it was probably a good thing for the NFL. Because everyone got to talk about it, and it was just more publicity and more publicity for halftime shows.” It seems like Brady was not fully opposed to the idea of Nipplegate and the amount of publicity it brought in.

While Brady did not seem to have a problem with Nipplegate, it has become one of the biggest incidents to almost become a pop culture reference. However, it remains to be seen if any upcoming halftime performances keep up with Jackson and Timberlake’s wardrobe malfunction.
