Few athletes have gained global recognition like Colin Kaepernick. The former NFL quarterback became a household name when he took a knee during the national anthem in 2016, to protest against police brutality and racial injustice. While his protests sparked a nationwide debate, it also cost him his football career. However, there are several who support the QB in his endeavors.

Kaepernick has not seen a spot on a football roster for over 2000 days, despite his undeniable talent. While Kaepernick continues to battle his way back into the league, he expressed his disappointment after being rejected by the NFL once again last month. But he now seems to have found support from the realms of professional hockey.

But while the support from Aliu must be a comforting sight, Kaepernick still continues to struggle with finding a roster spot.

Kap fails to find his way back to NFL

Ever since his protests took the world by storm, Colin Kaepernick has struggled to find a place for himself in the NFL. The 35-year-old QB has been out of the NFL for nearly 7 years. This continues to baffle many, including Kaepernick himself, as the QB had a successful career during his playing days, even leading the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2012.

But he once again faced rejection from the NFL, after the Raiders called him in for a workout, only to inform the QB that they did not plan on signing him. Kaepernick has repeatedly expressed his frustration and disappointment at finding a home in football again. While his athletic skills may not be what they once were, he still believes that he can be more than a serviceable QB to any team in need. But in his eyes, his political affiliation and stance seem to have cast a dark shadow alongside his name. Only time will tell if Kaepernick can finally handle the pigskin in the NFL again.
