Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints are down with injuries ahead of the NFL clash. Both teams lock horns against each other in the absence of some major stars. Five of the Bucs players are doubtful starters. WR Chris Godwin is already ruled out with an injury. Saints QB Jameis Winston is injured ahead of the game. 

RB Leonard Fournette and WRs Mike Evans, Julio Jones, Russel Gage, and Breshad Perriman are also questionable for Super Sunday. The injury of these Pro Bowl stars has put the Bucs on a fix. However, NFL GOAT Tom Brady and head coach Todd Bowles are confident about the Bucs unit.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers unit and New Orleans Saints are hit with setbacks

At the AdventHealth Training Center, wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a calf strain. Hence, he abstained from taking part in the practice. He tried hands-on training on Wednesday but it went in vain, as per the team’s medical reports. Receiver Julio Jones suffered a knee injury, and he did not take part in the training program on Thursday. Two other major members, Chris Godwin and left tackle Donovan Smith, suffer from hamstring and elbow injuries, and are unlikely to take part in the Week 2 game.

The Saints are also affected by a few injury issues. Their main running back, Alvin Kamara (ribs), and cornerback Paulson Adebo (ankle) are not expected to play, as they did not come for the training on Thursday. Another QB, Jameis Winston, who is down with a back injury, is also questionable to play in the match. Meanwhile, Saints RB, Mark Ingram, down with an ankle injury is expected to play in the Sunday matchup.

What to expect in the Super Sunday clash

Tom Brady and the team are all packed up for the battle. The Bucs are unnerved by the loss of players. They want to keep the momentum going.

Meanwhile, the Saints are glad that their injury status is not as bad as that of the Bucs. They will hope for a decent show as the attention heads to an exciting battle up front between two top sides.
