Philadelphia Eagles recently acquired free agent cornerback James Bradberry in one of the notable acquisitions by the franchise. After getting his release from the New York Giants on May 9, the former Pro Bowler now has a new start with the Eagles. Bradberry found certain aspects of the Eagles roster quite alluring and ultimately was crucial to his decision.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, he signed a 1-year, $10 million deal due to the Giants facing their salary cap issues. On Wednesday evening, while speaking to NBC Sports Philadelphia reporter John Clark, Bradberry states, “I saw the guys on the d-line, and as a DB, sometimes your best friend is the d-line. So I’m looking forward to it.

He adds that he prioritizes any franchise that would be a scheme fit for him. There has been a whirlwind of changes for Bradberry throughout his career. He spent 4 years with the Panthers and 2 seasons with the Giants. It seems to be a match made in heaven and will form a formidable corner partnership for the Eagles in 2022.

James Bradberry will be a welcome addition to the Eagles’ defense

The Eagles have genuine talent at the corner position for the first time in many years. Eagles CB Darius Slay and Bradberry have been consistent over recent seasons and getting Pro Bowl selections for their efforts. Both Eagles CBs are the only players in the league with 15 or more INTs, and 80 or more passes defended since the 2016 season.
