In the realm of sports, the inherent vulnerability to injuries is unmatched by any other than American football. Countless careers have been tragically cut short due to these severe injuries affecting the legs, chest, and back. Nevertheless, the NFL world was recently left shellshocked when a conversation regarding the former wide receiver, Brandon Marshall‘s injury, resurfaced.

The 6x Pro’s premature exit from the sport compelled him to confront the elephant in the room and address the underlying reason behind his injury. And, interestingly enough, it involved none other than Aaron Rodgers‘ new franchise.

The former wide receiver is still regarded as one of the most ruthless athletes in the NFL. In a 14-year period, he played for a total of 8 teams in the league, leaving an indelible mark on the sport. However, his career took a tragic turn during the 2017 NFL season while playing for the Giants. He suffered a devastating ankle injury at the Jet’s home ground, the MetLife Stadium. He also revealed in the interview that this said injury altered the course of his career.

Brandon appeared on Doctor Mike’s podcast earlier this year, where they discussed all sorts of injury-related issues. After discussing several other athletes’ injuries, they proceeded to talk about Brandon’s deltoid snap, that occurred at the New York Jets‘ home ground. The 6x Pro Bowl started with, “Oh my goodness! I knew it was over,” as he started to watch the video with Mike.

He then attributed his failed jump to the non-natural grass and the playing surface of the Jets’ home ground. He also claimed this same problem has caused many athletes’ careers, including his, and added, “That was pretty much the last of me”. The field has since been revamped, following multiple injuries. The new turf is built on an improved synthetic surface, according to ESPN. The 6x Pro Bowler then claimed that he could have played a few more years if it wasn’t for the injury.
