The 33-year-old defensive juggernaut tied the knot with Kealia Ohai Watt in 2020. Kaelia plays as a forward for the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women Soccer League. The couple welcomed their first baby, son Koa James Watt, in late October this year. They have been navigating through the first-time experience of being parents together.
After letting her mother take care of him for the day, the first thing J.J. does after reaching home is to take Koa. “I feel like it’s unfair for her to be home all day, having to do all the work, change all the diapers, doing everything by herself while I’m here [at the Cardinals’ practice facility], albeit at work and working hard, but, I mean, I’m playing football, I’m lifting weights, like I’m with my friends. “So, when I go home, A, I really, really wanna spend time with him. I mean, I miss him all day long, and, B, I want her to have time to herself,” he added.
