Eli Manning is a brilliant prankster. Fans know him and his brother Peyton Manning for their fun shows and pranks as much as their prowess with the football. The former New York Giants quarterback donned his prankster hat again when comedian Desi Banks showed up for his show. And for that, he got a little help from another Super Bowl champion to set up the complete trick.

Manning has often donned the persona of ‘Chad Powers’ to go undercover for his shows and pull some pranks. He even forced Peyton to wear a t-shirt bearing the persona as a part of a bet. But recently, he revealed that he is retiring Chad for good. Although the persona didn’t come out for the latest prank, the fans would be happy to see the prankster returning to his old tricks.

Eli Manning had comedian Desi Banks on for the latest edition of the ‘Eli Manning Show’. But the show started even before all of them reached the sets as the Giants legend set up a prank at the expense of the comic on the entry itself. He teamed up with Super Bowl champion center Shaun O’Hara to disguise as the security personnel.

In a video uploaded by the Giants, the boys didn’t let Banks in for quite some time, telling him he wasn’t on the list. While the comic dealt with the situation, probably cursing his host for the unforeseen problem, Manning had a great laugh. After putting Banks in a spot, where he had to show off his football knowledge, Manning came out of the security room, and everybody had a great laugh.

So, the Giants legend is back to tricking people after retiring his Chad Powers persona. Fans might not see Chad again soon but it is good to see Manning hasn’t left the pranking side of his personality altogether.

The Chad Powers persona

Eli Manning created his Chad Powers persona for ESPN’s show ‘Eli’s Places’. He visited the Penn State football facilities undercover to be one of the walk-on quarterbacks that time. And it resulted in some hilarious comedy.

Recently, he revealed that Chad wouldn’t be coming back anytime soon. That is despite the huge popularity the character gained in a short time. Merchandise bearing Chad have also become widely popular among football fans, with Peyton Manning wearing one after losing a bet to his younger brother. But Eli said he was done with the character.

“Chad’s not making a comeback. You know, I’m done throwing his chads, put him into retirement,” Manning told Pat McAfee.
