Former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee recently shared his views over the start of a bidding war for the NFL Sunday Ticket rights. The rights for the package were in the hands of a multichannel video programming distributor DirecTV, who owned it for nearly 30 years. During a recent episode on the Pat McAfee Show, the Colts punter discusses the potential bidding war, stating, “Only thing keeping probably FOX alive, CBS alive, everything is these NFL deals that are happening, and I’m sure they would survive otherwise. $1.5 billion a year is what DirecTV had been paying for Sunday ticket, and the NFL is looking for a 100 percent increase on that. We would like $3 billion a year.”
