A warning by a Niners legend
After the Deebo Samuel injury, Niners legend Jerry Rice has shot a warning towards the team coaching staff. He has asked them to consider changing their decision-making process to protect the players.
“Please stop running out skill player up the middle. Trey Lance, Jimmy Garoppolo and now Deebo Samuel all hurt!!” Rice wrote in an Instagram post with a photo of Samuel.

Rice won three Super Bowl titles with the Niners as a wide receiver. The Pro Football Hall of Famer doesn’t sound too happy with the situation at his beloved franchise. Before Samuel, the Niners lost both their QBs, Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance, to injuries. Although rookie QB Brock Purdy has risen to the occasion to guide the team to two back-to-back wins, the Niners do have to be careful on that front.

Deebo Samuel left the field with an ankle injury in Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers. The wide receiver injured himself after a fumble on a running play in the second quarter of the game. The Niners’ medical staff quickly carted him off to the locker room and then ruled him out of the game.
The only good news is that Samuel’s injury doesn’t seem to be a season-ending one. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, Samuel did not sustain a fracture and has a high ankle sprain. The injury will sideline him for the remainder of the regular season. But the franchise can expect him to be back for the playoffs.
