Only once or twice in the season, fans get to see the Hail Mary getting successfully executed, and the Panthers nailed it this time during a nail-biting game against the Falcons in Week 8. PJ Walker and DJ Moore connected for a phenomenal touchdown that received praise from gunslingers Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.

After sidelining the No 1 prospect Baker Mayfield, PJ Walker took charge as the starter and led the Offensive unit for a three-touchdown comeback drive in the fourth quarter. The highlight of the game was Walker attempting the Hail Mary with a crisp throw for 62 yards in the final seconds before the final whistle.

The deep bullet toward the end zone was caught by DJ Moore for an outrageous touchdown. Indeed, it was a crazy moment for the fans, and the Falcons just couldn’t believe what they saw in front of their eyes.

However, all this attempt to seal a win went in vain after Moore removed his helmet, celebrating the impossible. According to the norms set by the league, players cannot remove their helmets, especially after scoring a touchdown.

Subsequently, the wide receiver was charged with unsportsmanlike conduct that cost the side a 15-yard penalty for their field goal attempt. Unfortunately, Panthers kicker Eddy Piñeiro had to attempt a 48-yard goal to win the game. Not to mention he missed it by a great margin. This took the game towards overtime, and the Falcons’ first overtime drive got intercepted, giving the ball to the Panthers.

Piñeiro again had a chance to rectify his mistake by kicking for a 32-yard field goal, and guess what? He missed it again! The Falcons got possession of the ball again. They eventually kicked a field goal, snatching the game away from the Panthers. All that last-second comeback went in vain.

Patrick Mahomes reacted to PJ Walker’s on-field heroics

No doubt, this pass shall forever go down as one of the greatest throws, with Moore bringing it to perfection. As soon as the play went viral, fans from all across the globe showered likes and applause. The Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes couldn’t hold back what he just saw.
