The Pittsburgh Steelers’ unbeaten streak is over. Their 17-23 loss at the hands of the Washington Football Team was their first of the season for Mike Tomlin’s side in the NFL this season.
A loss that many believe was long overdue. Though the Steelers are 11-1, they have had their fair share of detractors this season.
The Buffalo Bills, meanwhile, are flying high thanks to yet another dominant outing by quarterback Josh Allen and his offensive corps against the San Francisco 49ers.

Pittsburgh Steelers’ running game a cause for concern
For many, the Kansas City Chiefs are the favorites to clinch the top seed in the AFC, but the Steelers won’t give up that easy. The Steelers’ main concern this season has been their lackluster showing when running the football.
In the game against Washington, the Steelers only ran a total of 21 yards across 4 quarters. This was not the case earlier on in the season, though.

The Steelers ground game was averaging a little over 130 rushing yards a game in their first 5 outings, a stat which would firmly place them among the league’s Top-10 right now.
Fast forward to December and the Steelers average less than a 100 rushing yards a game, the 4th-lowest in the league.
While this has much to do with a shift to a more short pass-oriented offense to get the most out of veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, for the fans these numbers are a massive source of concern.
MVP shout Allen key for Bills offense
“Very versatile quarterback,” said Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cam Sutton, while describing Bills QB Josh Allen during an interview with the team’s official website.

The Bills currently have a 9-3 record and are sitting pretty on top of the AFC East division thanks to a career-high 3,405-yard season so far by Allen. With 4 games left to play and 26 touchdowns against his name, Allen has emerged as a genuine MVP shout.

Allen’s performances this season even saw him end up winning FOX Sports’ mid-season MVP award ahead of the likes of Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, and Aaron Rodgers.

The Steelers defense, which leads the league in sacks (44), will have to neutralize the threat early on if they are to register a win against the Bills.
With all that said, which side do you feel will win this all-important AFC match up and further cement their position as Super Bowl contenders?
