NFL franchise Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett had been catching the eye in college and will be playing in the NFL next season. During his recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Pickett gets candid with the Colts’ punter while talking about how he is learning to play the game. He reveals, “I get invited a lot, and I love playing scrambles…I got last off the drive because if they hit a good one, I don’t even go, I just pick up the ball and tell them let’s save the ball…Everyone inviting me out to golf, and I gotta figure it out like Dan Marino invited me to go down.

It appears that Pickett wasn’t able to play golf with the legendary Marino, but broke all his records at the University Of Pittsburgh. Even McAfee brings up his achievements while interviewing the new Steelers QB and considers it to be unprecedented. The former Steelers QB will be looking to start the team’s resurgence in the NFL following the retirement of QB Ben Roethlisberger last season.

Will Kenny Pickett usher in a new era for the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field?

The promising QB is coming off a college season, where he was viewed as the most draft-ready QB prospect in his class. Pickett is a Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award-winning player, who threw for 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns as a senior. With his draft selection at No.20 in the first round, he became only the second Pitt quarterback to achieve the distinction, following Dan Marino in 1983.
