The Washington Commanders fell short yet again, this time to the New York Giants. But a fan stole the headlines of the day. And maybe in turn inspired the Commanders to move the ball with his tenacity. The fan ran onto the field in full Tyreek Hill mode during the second half and it was enough for him to trend on Twitter. Here is a shot-out for a new running back or a fast wide receiver in the NFL.

The Commanders fell to their sixth loss of the season with a lackluster performance. And maybe the frustrated fan wanted to audition for a place on the struggling Commanders’ offense.

When a fan switched on his Tyreek Hill mode

The Commanders seemed to be struggling to move the ball almost the entire first half and fell 14-3 behind at halftime. As they started their first drive of the second half, a fan came running onto the field. He made the run of his life, like the ‘Cheetah’ of the NFL Tyreek Hill would make after catching the ball. But there stood two stadium defenders in coverage. The two security guards on duty in that section tackled the fan and brought him under control.

But wasn’t the tackle worth throwing a flag? The fan was already out of bounds when the tackles came in so it should be a personal foul and a 15-yard penalty on the guards. But the referee didn’t bother with a flag on this play as he had an NFL week 15 clash to worry about. Watching their fan make a play on the sidelines sure inspired the Commanders, who scored their first and only touchdown of the game on the same drive.

But it was the running NFL fan that made waves on social media. And for neutral fans, what transpired was way more entertaining than the Commanders.

The NFL world enjoyed the fan’s play

The guards took the fan down, but the guy had already won the approval of the NFL world. The fans joked about the situation and praised both the fan and the guards for whatever happened. According to this fan, each security guard gets credit for half a sack.

This fan jokingly issues an injury update on the tackled fan.

Watching the fan’s running game, the NFL world wants some franchise to sign him up.

The Commanders lost the game 12-20 to their division rivals the Giants and are at the bottom of the NFC East. How will the team from Washington bounce back in the remaining games? Maybe they will end up hiring their Cheetah fan to help run the ball better.
