The gesture went viral. But not for the reasons one expects it to go viral. It went viral because of a mistaken identity.

The case of a mistaken identity
A journalist presented German lederhosen to Tom Brady in a press conference. The legendary QB took it graciously, saying that he might give it to his Buccaneers deputy Kyle Trask to wear. It was all fun and games until journalist Nick Stroud misidentified the said journalist as Sky Sports’ Neil Reynolds.
But it wasn’t actually Reynolds who presented Brady with the piece of clothing. And the NFL world made a few jokes on the issue. Reynolds himself joked that it couldn’t be him because he doesn’t have a German accent.
Definitely not me. I don’t have a German accent for a start 😂

This fan could not believe that Neil Reynolds was bald.
Neil Reynolds is bald?

A fan joked that Reynolds picked up a German accent quickly.
@neilreynoldsnfl you picked up the German accent rather quickly..

This fan took the opportunity to compliment Tom Brady.
Such a sweetheart. Always so gracious and humble. Love you Tommy❤️. Can’t wait to see them on 😊

A fan gave the full story.
Nope, it was one guy from german TV broadcaster @ProSieben (he even spelled his name to one media outlet asking him afterwards, but I didn't really pay attention)

Brady got lederhosen for himself, and the fans got a reason to laugh. A win-win situation for everybody, it seems.
Tom Brady leads a comeback
The Buccaneers haven’t had a great start to their 2022 season. Tom Brady has struggled with the worst start of a season of his entire career. The Bucs had won just three of the eight games. Week nine looked daunting too as they were up against the reigning Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams. And they had to win. And win they did.

They required a clutch play from Brady for that, though. The Bucs were trailing 9-13 with just thirteen seconds on the clock. It was a first down on the one-yard line. And Brady produced a great pass to tight end Cade Otton for a touchdown as the clock almost ran out. It was a Bucs win finally.
The Bucs are at the top of the NFC South divisional table with four wins out of nine. They have every chance to progress to the playoffs by winning their division. Can Brady show why he is the best in the business by reviving the season for the Buccaneers as they prepare to take on the Seattle Seahawks?
