Promises are hard to keep. However, when one promise is made and it comes through is a great feeling altogether. In the world of the NFL too with teams trying to win the trophy and titles, promises are made between team-mates. One such promise was made between Denver Broncos players – Peyton Manning and DeMarcus Ware. In an emotional Hall of Fame speech this Saturday, the outside linebacker reflected back on an emotional moment in his playing days.

The duo formed a formidable bond with Denver Broncos. From 2015 until their retirements, the senior statesmen led their side to a Super Bowl 50 win. In what was the team’s biggest win, the senior players kept the atmosphere light and amicable. As the 4X First-Team All-Pro stood on the podium to relive the cherished memories, DeMarcus went down memory lane. He remembered how he formed a partnership with the Broncos quarterback. With the promise kept and delivered, Ware gave a special mention to the NFL legend in his speech.

On Saturday, DeMarcus Ware was inducted into the Hall of Fame. The former outside linebacker touched on several career highlights during his professional career. His journey from a small college star to Pro Footballer Hall of Fame is heartening. He touched over a special promise made between Peyton Manning and himself. DeMarcus in an emotional statement remembered, “Let’s go win this thing” and we did it, brother.” A jubilant Peyton Manning raised his fist in appreciation for the words.

True fans know how DeMarcus pushed his team-mates to win the elusive glassware. Back in 2015, Ware saved his best performance for the big final. He finished with two sacks and four defining hits on the opposition’s QB.

On the fateful eve of the Super Bowl 50 match, the senior players of the Denver Broncos – Peyton Manning and DeMarcus Ware rounded up their teammates. Manning went first, guiding and motivating his teammates. However, the speech was different, the ever-joking Manning had a serious tone in his voice. As one of the team-mates would later say “Manning was outright praying for us guys!.”

DeMarcus Ware now stood up for his speech. As he looked into the eyes of the avid teammates, he pulled out the trophy and put it on the table. Then he spoke with an unwavering confidence “Do ya’ll want this or not? This year our motto was Iron sharpens iron, and another man sharpens another.” He further added, “This isn’t ours, but we have an opportunity to live forever by building a piece of armor that we can take to battle with us every single day for the rest of our lives.”

The words propelled the team to go ahead and win the glassware. An emotional Ware graced the Hall of Fame stage and relived all these memories. With his best mate Manning in the audience, the pair once again shed light that together one can achieve great things.
