After a long and eager wait, NFL fans finally got to watch Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’ on their screens. The Omaha Productions-docuseries has been the talk of the town for the past couple of weeks, captivating audiences with its unique storytelling style. Featuring no other than Patrick Mahomes, clips still arise on the internet, even to this day. Produced by Peyton Manning, the 8-episode was then recently announced for a renewal, exciting the fans once more.
However, despite its record-breaking start as the fastest Netflix sports docuseries, the upcoming season now faces some challenges. Could it be that the 2X MVP himself has unintentionally overshadowed the show?

The Sheriff himself confirmed on the Pat McAfee Show that Netflix has agreed to a renewal of the show. Fans are already buzzing with anticipation, hoping to see their favorite quarterbacks featured in the next season. However, a recent report has revealed a surprising twist, as several quarterbacks have declined to be part of the upcoming season. Dak Prescott, for instance, not only refused to join the renewal but also turned down the opportunity to be in the initial season.

Other reputable quarterbacks, including Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields, Tua Tagovailoa, and Sam Howell, have also declined the invitation for the following season. Dov Kleiman took to Twitter to update about the same, with a caption that read, “Running out of options”. It was also reported that Rams’ man, Matthew Stafford, turned down season 1 of the show as well.
Interestingly, Manning recently mentioned that a few quarterbacks refused to participate in season 1, but now, numerous athletes are eager to be part of the show.
Most quarterbacks were uncomfortable with the idea of the show
When approached for the show, the Eagles‘ QB expressed that his life story couldn’t be adequately portrayed in just a one-day show. However, he intriguingly hinted, “That time will come,” suggesting the possibility of another show or movie in the future. On the other hand, Tua voiced his discomfort with the show, feeling that it delved too much into an athlete’s personal life.

The series received a mix of positive and negative reviews, offering fans a glimpse into never-seen-before moments. Apart from Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota were also featured in the show, providing insights into both their triumphs and struggles.
As the highly spoken-about sports series in the industry, it’s highly probable that a reputable quarterback will star in the upcoming season, with fans eagerly hoping for Aaron Rodgers to be the top pick. With such popularity, there’s no doubt that several quarterbacks will be willing to join the cast for the next season.
