Former Tom Brady’s teammate Rob Gronkowski still makes headlines even after his retirement from professional football. The New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, TE has had quite a successful football career with his friend and former teammate Brady. His mother, Diane Gronkowski, has done a fantastic job raising five sons, with each one of them becoming a pro athlete. During their early days, mother Gronk traveled thousands of miles just to take her children to their baseball, football, hockey, and basketball games. And she would always cheer for them from the sidelines. 

But recently, Rob Gronkowski’s mother revealed that she did not like attending her son’s NFL away games. And there seems to be a valid reason behind her decision.

During a recent interview with Kay Adams on ‘FanDuel’, the host asked Diane Gronkowski to share her experience of going to her son’s NFL games. To this, she stated that while she was a regular at the home games; she did not make much of an appearance for the away games that Rob Gronkowski played. She felt that fans are a little too excited about their favorite teams from the sidelines, and it sometimes led to havoc that she was not a fan of.

She said, “The away games I didn’t usually go to too many away games because of that reason. If you did do we had to wear just like a plain T-shirt no Jersey, because people got nasty sometimes. But yeah, the beer it seemed to be a thing like whoever was behind me always ended up spilling beer on me and I don’t like beer and I don’t like the smell of beer. “

She further went on to talk about how she could start making her own schedule, of which games to attend whenever Gronkowski’s NFL schedule came out in April. She even released a book called ‘outnumbered’, that talks about the way she navigated life as a mother of five sons with athletic talents.

Diane Gronkowski writes a book about being a mother of five athletes

Last year, in August, Mama Gronk released her book that narrates the way she raised five boys while being a be-at-home mother. Diane is the mother to Rob, Gordie, Dan, Chris, and Glen, all of who are athletes. Four of them played professionally in the NFL, while Gordie played professional baseball.

Not only this, all the earnings from the sales of the book will go to their family charity, the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation. This charity donates sports equipment and gear to the youth who need it in order to pursue their own professional sporting dreams.

While Rob Gronkowski now has retired from the NFL, his mother must be a very happy and proud parent, grinning at all the achievements her sons have had in their lives.
