The 49ers seem to have recognized the talent that might help them make their mark next season. While they have pursued Panthers’ QB, Sam Darnold for his talent, one of their actions showcased that another player is more important. For context, the 49ers have signed Darnold on a one-year deal. However, they went on to sign a deal that was even more important, with a player from the Philly Eagles. As per the Salisbury Post, the 49ers signed a whopping deal for $48 million over 4 years with the ex-Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave.
The 49ers have seemed to recognize the talent that Hargrave has. They have signed him for his brilliant defensive effort.

The tackle has gone on to play to the best of his abilities for the Eagles, last season. Hargrave had a total of a whopping 37 solo tackles for the Eagles. Furthermore, he had four brilliant solo tackles in the Super Bowl. He also had 23 assisted tackles and an average of 11 sacks over the seasons. His defensive effort was one of the reasons that the Chiefs had such a tough time overcoming the Eagles. The 49ers are definitely going all out trying to ensure that their roster has absolutely no weakness in terms of their defense.
With he had a promising season, Hargrave has earned the kind of lucrative contract he has been offered. Furthermore, with the kind of talent, the 49ers hold in the quarterback section, it makes sense for them to offer a smaller deal to Darnold. However, it remains to be seen how these two new players go on to impact the 49ers’ performance next year.
