Some paw-some activities are stealing away the spotlight. The preseason has come to an end, and the teams are in rigorous practice. With the new NFL season rapidly approaching, both fans and teams are eagerly anticipating the next Super Bowl winner. In particular, the focus is on Patrick Mahomes‘ victorious Kansas City Chiefs from last season’s SB and Jalen Hurts’ Philadelphia Eagles, who were runners-up in the finals.
While that championship showdown garnered remarkable attention, becoming the most-watched show in American TV history, there’s another captivating event that emerged a few months ago. Now, that distinctive battle video is resurfacing, evoking “aww”s and delight among fans once again.

Just hours before the Chiefs faced the Eagles in this year’s Super Bowl, the 19th annual Puppy Bowl stole the spotlight. USA Today shared the adorable video of the puppies competing with each other, on their YouTube channel, which has now resurfaced. Airing before the big game, the Puppy Bowl showcased dozens of adoptable pets competing in a lighthearted event.
With Team Ruff and Team Fluff, canine athletes aimed for the Chewy “Lombarky” trophy in a mini football stadium filled with chew toys. The rules were simpler than football, as they tried to score by getting a ball into end zones. Guided by “ruff-eree” Dan Schachner and commented on by Taylor Rooks and Steve Levy, the event charmed viewers with water bowl cams and puppy kiss cams.
Featuring 122 puppies from 67 shelters across 34 states, including special-needs players like Julius and Mykonos, the adorable video gained widespread attention. But who emerged as the Puppy Bowl winner?
Here’s the much-deserving winner!
Team Fluff secured the prized “Lombarky” trophy in the 2023 Puppy Bowl, triumphing 87-83 against Team Ruff. The game’s final touchdown was scored by Vivianne, a bulldog mix from southern Colorado, who charmingly carried a green turtle toy into the end zone. This marks Team Fluff’s back-to-back victory, as they also emerged triumphant in 2022.
