The Cardinals QB Kyler Murray became one of the highest-paid quarterbacks this offseason after he bagged a five-year, $230.5 million contract. Although fans expected a breakthrough season, it turned out to be a disappointment, with Murray blaming the coaching staff for their failures. Meanwhile, his former teammate Patrick Peterson criticized the quarterback for being ‘selfish’ with his on-field attitude.

The Cardinals are currently placed third in the NFC West, with a season record of 4-8. Their latest setback came against the Los Angeles Chargers in a close knock, falling short of a single point. Murray and Co. could only post 24 against the Chargers’ 25.
While the frustrated quarterback resorted to calling out the coaches, his former teammate Patrick Peterson lashed the passer publicly. “Kyler Murray doesn’t care about nobody but Kyler Murray,” Peterson said in his podcast.
It took no time for this comment to spread like a wildfire. As soon as the quarterback learned about this statement, he came forward to justify his intentions and asked the veteran to call him in person rather than dragging his name through the mud.
Well, this back and forth made the fans wonder, and speculate a possible rift between the duo. Peterson currently plays for the Vikings and happens to be the right prospect to know a thing or two about the quarterback and his behavior. “I don’t have any beef with Kyler Murray.” Peterson clarified his statements.
“What I meant by my comment was when you’re a franchise quarterback you have to carry yourself a certain way. So if you’re having bad body language, pouting, moping on the sideline, what type of energy do you think feeds off to your teammates?” He questioned before detailing Murray’s strengths and weaknesses.

As a fourth-year quarterback for the Cardinals, Murray is growing as a promising asset for the franchise. But his careless attitude seems to have taken a toll on their overall performance.

“I do look forward to talking to him because I see a ton of talent in him. And those mannerisms are alarming. I’m just saying something that most people may be afraid to tell him.” Peterson said.
