Patrick Mahomes’ Wife Brittany Matthews Once Signed a Soccer Contract for a Team in Europe After Graduating From UT Tyler

Even his better half, Brittany Matthews, was a star athlete during her collegiate days. Moreover, she was also a part of an international athletic team after graduation.

The Mahomes family’s athletic heritage comes from Pat Mahomes Sr. He was an MLB player and was a part of various teams as a pitcher. His son, Patrick Mahomes II, became one of the NFL’s rising stars. The QB is now building his legacy with the Kansas City Chiefs. Even his wife, Brittany, has an athletic background and has competed at an international level.

Brittany Matthews was a soccer player at UT Tyler. According to TVOM, Matthews loved the game in high school but did not see herself playing it frequently in university. She had friends on the squad, so she tried out and was accepted. Brittany not only excelled at UT Tyler, but she also got a pro soccer contract.

In 2017, Brittany Matthews signed a professional deal with the Iceland pro team of UMF Afturelding/Fram. It was the year when Patrick Mahomes signed his contract with the Chiefs. Brittany spent some time playing professionally after graduating from UT Tyler with a degree in kinesiology and also won a league title.

As per Tyler Paper, Matthews was a forward who had a four-year career with the Patriots. She earned all-region accolades after her senior season with 31 goals, 16 assists, and a 56-13-5 record. Brittany ranks second all-time in team history with 78 points and 31 goals.

After her professional soccer career, Brittany Matthews took up premature retirement to focus on a different venture. She is now a certified personal trainer and works with people who want to be in shape and improve their standard of living.

Matthews also became a fitness entrepreneur and built Brittany Lynne Fitness. She runs her private training business and a clothing line from her residence. However, she did not leave out her football heritage. Brittany is a part owner of the Kansas City Current, a National Women’s Soccer League team. Despite all the criticism she faces, Matthews has established an empire, and now she will become a mother of two kids.
