Patrick Mahomes’ Wife Brittany Matthews Once Confessed Why She Gave Up Her Professional Soccer Career in Europe to Stay in Kansas City

Even before being called the wife of Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Matthews was an athlete and played soccer on a professional level. The NFL power couple shares similar interests, especially regarding health and fitness. They are evolving as an athletic family and have inspired other couples to build a similar bond. Matthews began her career by stepping on the soccer field for her college, but a few years later, she dropped the sport and became a full-time fitness trainer.

Last year, Matthews confessed the exact reason behind her motives for retiring from the sport prematurely. “While I was in Iceland, I realized you know that you have to have a huge passion if you want to play soccer,” she said on the show.

“I found that my passion was in fitness and helping others and even through college and when I came back to America before I moved to Kansas City, I was that friend that all my friends, you know, I would work out with Brittany because she could train me and so I decided to create an app home workout program,” Matthews explained.

Today, Mahomes’ wife owns one of the biggest platforms that deliver the right approach to a healthy life. It has garnered so many subscriptions and interest from the netizens that she dedicated her entire time to teaching and training. Although she has a one-year-old daughter to care for, the 26-year-old manages both simultaneously.

While Matthews might have left soccer, she made sure to remain connected to the sport by owning a team. The power couple collectively bought a Women’s Soccer League team, the Kansas City Current. Meanwhile, they have also invested in building a stadium, completely dedicated to women’s football.

Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews have been in a relationship for more than ten years. This offseason, they officiated their bond with a lavish Hawaiian wedding ceremony.

The couple met each other as friends going to school, and since then, they have been together. Even though their destinies landed them in different colleges, both of them stayed in Texas and maintained their relationship.
