Brittany Matthews’ advice to Will Smith
This year Will Smith received the best actor award for his phenomenal performance in the film King Richard at the 2022 Oscars. Despite celebrating this achievement, Social media was busy scrutinizing the slapping incident. Brittany Matthews, who happens to be a fitness coach and former collegiate Soccer player, joined the discussion. “You. Don’t.Slap.Someone” Matthews tweeted as advice for the Hollywood actor.

This message was a follow-up tweet she made to Kayla Nicole’s reaction. “And I didn’t even get the joke??????????????? That was a major overreaction. There must be some other sh*t going on. Cause what!? SLAPPED HIM!?!?” Nicole had tweeted.

For the 94th Academy awards, stand-up comedian and actor Chris Rock was one of the hosts. He was performing a comedy monologue that included Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Jada is suffering from a rare hair fall condition that is publicly known to everybody in the industry.
But, Rock made a sarcastic remark which didn’t go well with the Men in Black star. Instantly, Smith got up from his seat walked toward the stage, and slapped the comedian. Many people came forward in support, while many opposed his actions.
How did Patrick Mahomes react?
It seems like Patrick Mahomes was watching the Oscars live. At first, the athlete couldn’t believe his eyes, Taking on Twitter, Mahomes tweeted, “Bro……..”. Later he replied to his tweet and said, “Ain’t no way….”. Well, Brittany Matthews and Patrick Mahomes weren’t the only ones who were shocked. The incident has so much caliber that it shall remain a bitter spot in the history of Academy Awards.

Responding to the situation, the Academy released an official statement. “We have officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences by our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct, and California law.” the statement read.

Ultimately, Smith got banned from the Oscars for 10 years. This means he can still be eligible for an Oscars nomination or even a win, but he will no longer be able to vote as a member of the Academy or attend the award ceremony.
