The Week 11 encounter not only handed Mahomes a thrilling win but also an opportunity to rewrite history. It was a nail-biting game, with the Chiefs sealing a last-minute 30-27 victory against the Chargers. Meanwhile, it turns out Mahomes completed the 37th 300-yard passing yards game of his career within the first seven NFL seasons.

This feat was previously achieved by Dan Marino from 1983 to 1989 and now Mahomes has joined this elite club. While it took Marino 101 games as a starter to make this happen, the Chiefs passer did it in 73 games.

This record has been left untouched and unnoticed since the 1980s, but now it is about to break as six games are still left in the season. The second prospect on the current list is Andrew Luck, who completed 33 games of 300 passing yards in this time frame.

This Sunday, the Chiefs will have a blockbuster matchup against the reigning Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams. However, the Matthew Stafford-led side is on the brink of a lost campaign with a miserable season record of 3-7. Meanwhile, Mahomes and Co. will look to better their chances of title contention, given their receiver corps had taken a hit a few weeks ago.

“Turducken. I mean, you think about Turducken,” Reid said, recalling John Madden’s legacy. “I still have my Turducken in the freezer in tribute to him. I’m debating stuffing it. He’s my guy. I appreciate everything he did for me and just a good human being and for the game,” he added.

Similarly, Mahomes paid his respects and recalled childhood memories. “I got Madden the video game like right when Madden the video game became ‘it,’ which it still is. And so, I played it all growing up. Hearing his voice, it’s ingrained in me now.” Mahomes narrated.
