During the much-anticipated match between the Chiefs and the Jaguars, Travis Kelce surpassed ex-NFL player and ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe to become the tight end with the fourth most receptions in the history of the NFL. When it comes to receiving yards, Travis Kelce surpassed Shannon Sharpe the previous season with a total of 10,344 receiving yards. The Chiefs’ tight end would have become the 4th person on the total receipts all-time list if he had participated in the season opener against the Detroit Lions.

However, due to an injury, Kelce could not play in the September 7 game. Although, today, during the match against the Jaguars, Travis Kelce was on fire. He caught a pass thrown by Patrick Mahomes and scored a touchdown on the same. The partnership with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce catapulted the tight end to the fourth place when it comes to receipts. Thus, Kelce outnumbered the Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe with a total of 816 catches throughout his career.
