NFL franchise Kansas City Chiefs are doing everything possible to keep their franchise quarterback Patrick Mahomes happy. The team following the trade of star receiver Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins has been actively trying to recruit players to fill that void. They recently acquired former Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones, which was something that invoked a response from their franchise quarterback.

Mahomes took to social media to express his delight over the team’s offseason signings and seems excited about the upcoming season. The Chiefs will be signing Ronald Jones to a 1-year deal as a valuable addition to their roster. They only had Clyde Edwards-Helaire as the only RB under contract on their roster.
The uncertainty around their leading rusher in 2021, Darrel Williams, and their top playoff rusher, Jerick McKinnon, made recruiting Jones a no-brainer.
The former 2nd round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Jones fell down the pecking order in Tampa after the signing of RB Leonard Fournette. During his four-year stint with the Bucs, Jones led the team in rushing yards in consecutive seasons. He did end up recording 724 rushing yards in 2019 and 978 rushing yards during the 2020 campaigns.
Patrick Mahomes approves the Chiefs revamp strategy this offseason
The organization and their starting QB Mahomes aim to be competitive next season while showing an ambition to win it all. Jones will be a welcome addition to a prolific Chiefs offense that is receiving a revamp. Despite having a slow start against their AFC West opponents in free agency, the Chiefs are slowly shaping their roster.
There seems to be a visible excitement from Mahomes towards the near future of his franchise. He will be leading a roster with new players in free-agent wideouts, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Despite joining forces with a former foe, both will be looking to capture another Super Bowl ring.
