Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs survived a close game against the Denver Broncos team this Sunday. Although Mahomes won the game, he was not very happy with his performance, as he made some interceptions in the game, which could have been a disaster for the Chiefs. During the post-game press conference, Mahomes talked about the 3 mistakes he made during the game.

Notably, Mahomes’ interceptions gave Russell Wilson and the Broncos a massive chance for a comeback in the game and they used that opportunity well. At one point, it looked like the momentum was on their side; however, the Chiefs’ defense played its part and got the job done.

Patrick Mahomes talks about the three mistakes he made against the Broncos

Speaking about the three mistakes he made during the game, Mahomes said, The first one, probably just took the easy thread outside, try to force it to kill. The second one, I was trying to burn it… I mean, he (Patrick Surtain) made a hell of a play. I was just trying to throw it away at someone’s feet.

“The third one was just bad. Bad, because of the situation, we’re in filtering, especially here at the altitude. If I throw the ball away, no one’s open. So, just throw the ball away and let Harrison in the game… Luckily for me, the rest of the team stepped up,” Mahomes further added.

Mahomes also praised the defense of their team, who made some crucial plays in crucial moments to help the team massively. Moreover, he mentioned the performance of the special team as well, including Tommy Townsend and Harrison Butker.

Mahomes and the Chiefs get their 10th win of the season

Despite their QB making mistakes during the game, the Chiefs eventually got the job done and win the game 34-28 against the Broncos. Although Mahomes made 3 interceptions in that game, he also had 3 touchdowns, which gave the Chiefs a massive lead of 28-0 in the early part of the game.

Then, Russell Wilson and the Broncos tried to make a comeback; however, they were really far back in the game. Moreover, Wilson had a concussion at the end of the game, which forced him out. Before going out, he threw 247 yards for 3 touchdowns.

With this loss, the Broncos are out of playoff contention now. On the other hand, the Chiefs won their 10th game of the season, as they are topping the AFC West division. Notably, the Bills and the Chiefs have the same record in the AFC division; so it will be a close battle at the end to get the no.1 overall spot in AFC.
