It has been a roller coaster of an off-season for the Mahomes family. While they celebrate Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and his second Super Bowl ring, the family also recently lost one of its crucial pillars of support. Patrick’s grandmother Debbie passed away recently after fighting a long bout of sickness at the hospital. To honor her mother’s legacy, Randi started a GoFundMe page to create a $15,000 scholarship for educating students who need it. While it is a noble gesture by Randi to honor the life of her mother Debbie, the campaign, however, has not received the support it should from fans.

The death of Grandma Debbie has affected his mother, Randi Mahomes the most. Both Randi and her mother were very close to each other, and her mother’s death left an irreparable emptiness inside her.

When Randi started the ‘Honoring the Life of Debbie Bates Martin’ campaign, the initial goal was to raise $15000 dollars to create a scholarship for students who cannot access education because of financial reasons. Debbie herself was a registrar at the Whitehouse High School. So the campaign was a great way to honor her life posthumously.

However, the campaign has not received the support and attention from fans it should have. While the cause is noble, the goal of the campaign still falls short even today. Out of the targeted $15000 mark, the campaign has only managed to raise $5,280 to date. The highest donation to come forward was $1500 dollars.

Apart from this, she also shared a post made by one of her mother’s closest friends, Jeannie, who shared posts of Randi and Debbie together while paying her respects to her. Randi wrote, “Miss you momma”, as she shared the post that captures the life and joy Debbie was at the Mahomes household.

While the Mahomes clan continues to move on from this tragic loss, Randi Mahomes will be looking forward to fulfilling the campaign she started, as it will help underprivileged children have a chance at a good education.
