This deal will offer him a massive salary of up to $50 million a year, enlisting his name among the highest earners in the league.

The Oklahoma product showcased an MVP-worthy performance setting a new record for an undefeated streak in franchise history. Subsequently, his demand increased exponentially, with the management envisioning keeping him intact for a much longer time. The 24-year-old happens to be a second-round pick from the 2020 NFL draft.

According to the reports shared by ESPN, Hurts will draw a base salary of $1.3 million in 2023. He had signed a rookie contract worth $6,025,171 for four years, which will keep him through the 2023 season.

Post that, the team can put him under the franchise tag if negotiations or contract extensions are not carried out this offseason. However, looking at the current scenario, Hurts might bag a lucrative contract as soon as possible.

“I don’t think he has anything to prove [to be the long-term answer at quarterback],” Eagles CEO Jeffrey Lurie told ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio on the Super Bowl’s opening night.
