Patrick Mahomes Is Speechless as Brazil’s Bia Zaneratto Leaves Spectators Stunned With a Gorgeous Strike That Could Galvanize Brittany

It seems like Brittany’s passion for soccer is rubbing off on her NFL QB husband, Patrick Mahomes. The 2x Super Bowl champion is currently at training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs. But despite his own busy routine and training regime, Mahomes is making time to follow the FIFA Women’s world cup. While her husband signed with the Chiefs in 2017, Brittany also signed a contract to play professional soccer with the UMF Afturelding/Fram in Iceland. Despite playing just one season, she won the championship trophy with her team before returning home. 

But even today, Brittany has an undying love for soccer, as she is also the co-owner of the Kansas City Current. And it looks like the sport is finding its place in the life of Patrick Mahomes as well, who was left awe-struck by Bia Zaneratto’s jaw-dropping goal in the Women’s world cup.

Brazil’s goal leaves Patrick Mahomes dumbfounded

Brazil’s women’s soccer team has been a part of the World Cup ever since its inauguration in 1991. But they are still yet to win the converted title of champions. In their recent group stage match against Panama, they began their 2023 campaign with style. Panama is playing in the women’s world cup for the first time in their history. But the Brazil team was stronger, as they went on to clinch a 4-0 victory against them, which also impressed the 27-year-old Patrick Mahomes. 

The Chiefs QB took to Twitter to share a clip of the incredible team-orchestrated third goal by Brazil. While midfielder Ary Borges went on to score a hat-trick, her cheeky back heel pass to open up Bia Zaneratto was the highlight for the 2X Super Bowl champion. Zaneratto hit a tremendous strike on the top right corner of the goal to make it 3-0 for Brazil. Patrick Mahomes was visibly swept away by the play, as he wrote, “My goodness 🤯🤯🤯”, along with the clip.

And this is not the first time the 27-year-old QB has taken to social media to appreciate the game of soccer. He was also left in awe over Argentinian soccer star Lionel Messi’s debut goal in the MLS.

Mahomes has a soft spot for soccer

With his own wife being a former professional soccer player, it comes as no surprise that the Chiefs QB enjoys the game as well. And recently, Lionel Messi made his debut on American soil. He signed with Inter Miami in the MLS. And during his debut match against Cruz Azul, Messi scored a spectacular free-kick to clinch the victory for his team in the dying moments of the game. This led to the internet going into a frenzy, with many athletes praising Messi for his skills on social media. The goal even left Mahomes speechless, calling Messi a “Wild man”, followed by the emoji of a goat. 

And now, with the 2023 season of the NFL just a few more weeks away, the 27-year-old will be looking forward to creating his own magic with pin-point passes on the field. Maybe a third Lombardi trophy is in sight for the QB and the Chiefs Kingdom? Only time will be the verdict of this outcome.
