Patrick Mahomes is a prominent NFL personality. But some anonymous comments on his QB skills got attention during the training camp. An undisclosed league DC points out a glaring flaw in Mahomes’ plays. Even Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray became a point of target in the rankings list. The Chiefs QB took notice and does not look happy about it.

KSHB’s Aaron Ladd asks Patrick Mahomes if he is unfairly assessed as a black quarterback during the Chiefs’ training camp media scrum. Mahomes does not impose the same, but it intrigued him as only Black quarterbacks face scrutiny.

Mahomes mentions, “Obviously, the Black quarterback has had to battle to be in this position that we are to have this many guys in the league playing. I think every day, we’re proving that we should have been playing the whole time… It’s always weird when you see guys like me, Lamar [Jackson], Kyler [Murray] kind of get that on them when other guys don’t. But at the same time, we’re going out there to prove ourselves every day to show we can be some of the best quarterbacks in the league.”

The Kansas City Chiefs QB still feels the critique just makes it more cutthroat, and he has plenty to prove.

In response to the streetball criticism, Reid claims many coaches must teach their players how to move out and call plays. Mahomes just does it. He’s fantastic. Count the number of times he strikes the second receiver. Patrick’s records are inevitable — the QB led the Chiefs to a pair of Super Bowls, won a Lombardi, and was also the game MVP. He has some big plays left inside and could shut the naysayers with his performance.
