It is not just about performance on the field for NFL players. Given the massive rise in popularity after their NFL debut, many players also go on to collaborate with various brands to be a part of various advertisements and commercials. The NFL Rookie Premiere is the first stop for rookies to network with corporates and brands in order to build themselves as a business figure. And even 2X Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes has been the face of many brands over the course of his success.

But if there is one thing that the leagues ban players to promote, it is beer. NFL players are allowed to endorse anything through commercials, except for beer. But the Kansas City Chiefs QB found a loophole in the system to become the face of a $14.4 billion beverage giant in their recent campaign.

While the league bans players from doing beer commercials, players could figure out ways to beat the system and make commercials for beer while not violating the rules. And this is exactly what Patrick Mahomes did during his recent commercial with Coors Light to promote their beer.

The Chiefs QB was a part of Coors Light’s latest beer campaign. And while he couldn’t talk about beer directly, they maneuvered through the league rules in a cheeky way. Instead of making Mahomes talk about beer, they made the commercial about his new best friend, The Coors Light Bear. And the campaign was a success, as everything got sold out.

And this is not the first time Patrick Mahomes and Coors Light have figured out a way to bypass the league’s rules. They even did it last year, during a similar promotion.

The QB not only has a great track record in the NFL, but he also has a good record of tricking the league to make beer commercials while not actually making beer commercials. Last year, he took part in another campaign with the brand. Back then, it promoted the brand as a flashlight called ‘The Coors Light’. In the video, we see the QB opening his refrigerator and grabbing a flashlight! With such symbolic representations, the QB definitely has neat moves when it comes to being a part of beer commercials, while not actually talking about them.
