It’s time to unwind from the 2023 season preparations. With all the efforts going into the offseason for the league, a few Kansas City Chiefs players will enjoy a moment of respite. While the high from their Super Bowl LVII victory is still being continued, Chiefs fans will gear up for another celebrity-filled event in the city of Kansas.
This celebratory event will be one of the largest-ever celebrity guest lists for this event. And this will give Patrick Mahomes and his teammates some breathing space from their training and practice for the new NFL season. So what is the hype all about, apart from the new season of the league?

The Blick Slick event is an annual fundraising event that is hosted by some of Kansas City’s most famous people. Starting off in 2010 as a poker tournament, today, the Big Slick even goes on throughout the weekend, comprising various activities lined up. All the proceeds go to the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. This year, SNL cast member Heidi Gardner will join the other famous founders and hosts, including Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd, Rob Riggle, Eric Stonestreet, and David Koechner. But that’s not all, as three members of the Super Bowl LVII winning Chiefs roster will also be a part of the lineup.

And this is not the first time that Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are attending the event. They even helped in making the most amount of money in the 2019 event auction as well.
Mahomes and Kelce’s Big Slick history
Back in 2020 and 2021, the event went online only because of the ongoing pandemic. Last year, a record $3.5 million was raised for the Children’s Mercy Hospital’s Cancer Center. Back in 2019, Patrick Mahomes signed a custom jacket that Paul Rudd wore while announcing the QB as the MVP during that year’s NFL Honors ceremony. They paired the jacket with a package that included a barbecue dinner with star players of the Kansas City Chiefs. The complete package sold for a top price of $55,000. In 2017, Travis Kelce scored a two-run home run just by smacking the ball past the infield in the softball match.
