After spending a significant amount of time on the golf course the entire offseason, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are back on the football field for yet another season. Fans want them pitting against each other every single day. However, Mahomes and Andy Reid couldn’t stop praising their Week 6 opponent.

Both teams are 4-1 before facing each other this Sunday. Apart from Mahomes’ loss to Colts in Week 3 and Allen’s defeat against the Dolphins, both the QBs have fared well since the beginning of the season.

The duo has a lot of similarities. And a formidable offensive unit at their disposal makes the job easier. Meanwhile, it is to be noted that both quarterbacks are listed in the top five for passing yards, passing touchdowns, passer rating, and percentage of throws for first downs.

Now the question is who will top the AFC, given both sides are equal contenders for lifting the prestigious Lombardi trophy this season. Meanwhile, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid couldn’t stop admiring his opposition ahead of the face-off. What’s more intriguing for Reid is that despite being a small town, Sean McDermott has done a great job fostering the football culture.

“He’s done a great job, phenomenal job. That’s a unique place to coach in that it’s a smaller town and very passionate, you know? I think they respect the game up there and understand the game, and I think they really appreciate what Sean has brought to them.” Reid said in one of the latest interviews per SI.

What does Patrick Mahomes have to say before the clash?

The former Super Bowl champion is going ahead with great offensive and defensive units. They are capable of pulling out a championship title. However, the Bills are equal favorites, with the franchise adding more weapons this off-season.

Although Allen happens to be his great friend off the field. But Mahomes claimed that winning against great quarterbacks is always a cherishing moment. “Yeah, when you go up against the other great quarterbacks in the league, you always want to win,” Mahomes said in the interview.

“You always want to compete. Josh is a great guy. He’s a great quarterback – physically talented, he can throw, can run, he can really do it all. But he’s a great dude too. And so, obviously, when we’re on the football field, we are competing against each other, and we want to beat each other’s teams,” Mahomes explained. Well, it will be interesting to see how much success that can bring to their respective sides.
