Patrick Mahomes fails to cross the Bengals hurdle yet again
ESPN’s NFL analyst Marcus Spears has blamed the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes for the team’s loss to the Bengals in week 13. Spears said that Mahomes wanted to put on a show after last season’s AFC Championship game loss to the same team. Spears said that Mahomes did not take the opportunities available to him and always tried to go deep.“This team has beaten Kansas City twice. I think Pat wanted to put on a show. I think that had a lot to do with it. Now, look at some of these opportunities he missed here. You got guys wide open in the flats, Pat throws it deep. He is not taking those underneath things,” Spears said on ESPN’s show ‘NFL Live’.

Spears then went on to give a detail on the plays that Mahomes could have made. “Even if you don’t get a first down, you get a third and two, a third and three. And I thought at times that Pat was pressing,” the analyst added.
A third straight loss to Joe Burrow
The Bengals QB Joe Burrow became the first quarterback to beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in three straight games. The Bengals beat the Chiefs twice last season, including in an AFC championship game. Cincinnati lost the Super Bowl game but prevented the Chiefs from advancing to their third straight shot at the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Kansas came into the week 13 game against their AFC foes with revenge on their mind. And at the end of the third quarter, it looked like they would get it. But a fourth-quarter snatch from Chiefs TE Travis Kelce turned the tide and allowed the Bengals to come back. In the end, the Bengals won with a 27-24 scoreline.
