Pat McAfee hosted his most anticipated episode on the 22nd of February since it featured Aaron Rodgers. Fans were eager to hear more about the quarterback’s plans. Instead, he teased it a bit more without giving away the context. Although Rodgers did not reveal any of his plans that day, McAfee took the opportunity to steal the show by ripping off the punters that were invited to the NFL Combine during his time as a collegiate.

McAfee, during his talk with NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, talked about the controversies surrounding this year’s Combine. Rapoport ended up breaking a lesser-known fact that the NFL Combine is not run by the league itself. With that said, McAfee, evidently puzzled, asked Rapoport, “Who runs the Combine?”

The NFL punter during that burst of curiousness also revealed that he was not invited to the 2009 Combine, and that he was “actually p*ssed at a lot of NFL coaches” for it. Rapoport, stunned by that fact, asked if there were punters invited to the Combine.
Pat McAfee trolls other punters and kickers of the 2009 NFL Combine
“Yeah, they had really bad ones there the year I was there too, and kickers,” McAfee said. “I was the only person at the senior bowl who wasn’t invited to the Combine. Why do you have so much spite towards people?”

It is certainly a shocking fact that Pat McAfee, who did exceptionally well in his Junior and Senior years in college, was not invited to the 2009 NFL Combine. And seemingly, he still feels strongly about the fact that any of his competitors were not as good as him despite getting an invitation. However, shrugging it off, McAfee continued with his question.

“I didn’t know the NFL didn’t run the combine. It’s called the NFL combine,” McAfee continued. “NFL coaches run it. It’s on the NFL network. But you’re saying it’s like an independent party that they hire out to run that thing?”

To which Ian clarified it was, in fact, an independent body that is run by Jeff Foster. But the NFL may take a “heavy hand” on it if they allow bids from other cities.
