Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are currently playing at Ford Field in a road game against the Lions. Unfortunately, they suffered a big loss early in the second quarter, as their wide receiver Romeo Doubs limped off due to an injury.

This was the very first play for the Packers, as Rodgers threw a great pass to Doubs, which the 22-year-old caught with perfection. However, the Lions’ cornerback Mike Hughes tackled Doubs into the ground. After the tackle, the young wide receiver limped off.

Romeo Doubs suffers ankle injury as Aaron Rodgers and the Packers struggle early

After Doubs limped off the field, the Packers’ official Twitter handle posted an injury update. According to the Packers, Doubs suffered an ankle injury and is questionable for the rest of the game.

The medical staff was checking on his ankle on the sidelines, as he looked in visible pain. Then, a few medical staff carried him off the field to the locker room.

If he doesn’t return for the rest of the game, it will be a huge blow for the Packers, as he has been performing consistently for the Packers in the last few games. Moreover, this was a must-win game for the Packers if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Additionally, the Packers haven’t been playing at full strength since the start of the season. Rodgers talked about it at a recent interview, as he was hoping for a healthier squad. Now, another injury will most likely hamper their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, many Packers and NFL fans showed concern for the young wide receiver, as one fan wrote:

Meanwhile, one Packers fan took a dig at the GM for not trading for a WR during the trade deadline.

On the other hand, the first quarter of the game was scoreless, as both teams suffered offensively. Despite looking more aggressive, the Packers failed to score points. Moreover, Rodgers already had  2 interceptions, which will hurt the team more.
